Labor and Employment

     

 

  works extensively with a variety of labor, employment and retirement organizations. We are known for our expertise in all strategic, technical, and organizational aspects of government agencies. The breadth of our governmental expertise is gained from our refined methodologies, which extend our practice to multiple areas of governmental organizations.  Below is a sample list of our labor, employment and retirement system clients.

 

Retirement

  • State of Kansas, Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) – Evaluated a project that implements imaging systems to capture retirement documents electronically.

  • State of Kansas, Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) Assisted with business process analysis and documentation, feasibility analysis, procurement, and implementation planning of a new pension administration system. MTG is currently providing project management and oversights services to ensure the successful implementation of the core system.

  • Washington State Department of Retirement Systems – Assisted in assessing the feasibility and plan for migration of the state’s deferred compensation recordkeeping system  (an IRS 457 plan) from a self-administered system maintained by the Department of Personnel to a third-party record keeper.

  • City of Milwaukee Employees' Retirement System - MTG is providing project management services to lead this project through the implementation of Covansys Corporation’s Clarety public pension application.  We are operating a project management office and leading system testing, user acceptance testing, and implementation activities in conjunction with the city and Covansys. 

 

Labor and Industries

  • Kansas Department of Labor – Facilitated the development of an agency strategic plan that provided the vision, goals and objectives for guiding the department for the next 5-10 years.

  • Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) – Developed a recommendation for a technology solution and a feasibility study to enhance the agency’s labor exchange business.

  • State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries – Conducted an analysis and managed the migration from the department’s fixed and technology asset management systems to new asset systems.

  • Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development MTG facilitated the development of an IT investment management process that identifies and screens projects for agency approval and support.  The engagement set standards for managing projects and created a project management office approach for overseeing and coordinating them. 

 

Employment Security

  • Kansas Department of Labor MTG developed a feasibility study for migrating the UI Benefits System to a new technology and platform.  A part of this study included identifying plausible vendors that have application solutions which potentially could replace the UI Benefits System, as well as other alternatives. 

  • Washington State Employment Security Department – Assisted with an assessment of its One-Stop Operating System and developed an implementation plan for acquiring and tailoring an application that will support Washington’s employment and training business operations and meet federal Workforce Investment Act reporting requirements.

  • State of Oregon Employment Department – Provided quality assurance support on a major systems migration project that consisted of two components: (1) migration of the Oregon Job Selection System application from the Department of Human Resources mainframe data center to a client/server environment, and (2) implementation of the statewide client/server network infrastructure.

 

Human Resources

  • Washington State Office of Financial Management and Department of Personnel – Assessed the state Human Resources system and identified alternatives for migrating to a new system.
  • Oregon Legislative Administration – Assessed the human resources needs and requirements of the Oregon Legislative Administration.

  • Washington Health Care Authority In this assignment we developed a feasibility study for the HCA to acquire its own healthcare infor­mation systems.  The feasibility study recommended that the HCA migrate off its legacy systems, which are sup­ported by the Washington State Department of Personnel, and acquire its own systems via a vendor package.
